uplifting & celebrating student work at Richmond High

I began teaching 9th and 12th grade English at Richmond High, primarily focusing on building skills around reading & writing. That all changed for me when I pitched the idea of starting a Journalism program and expanding what we did to multi-media storytelling & community reporting. The program never actualized to the full dream of maintaining a consistent student press, yet I am so proud of the countless projects students created by following their own curiosities, leading with creativity, and sharing the stories they believed in.

Below you’ll find some of the work I’m most proud of after teaching at RHS for six years. It’s been such an honor & gift to work with these teens who forever hold a special place in my heart.
