These were created and printed during a workshop in Oaxaca, México led by local artist Issvan Duarte in his gallery studio Código Tonal.

When asked how we all knew each other, I said, “Dani es mi hermana y Aáron es mi…”

Someone sweetly interrupted, “Tu media naranja.”

While it literally translates to “your half orange,” he explained this is a phrase used to describe your better half,  your soulmate.

So this piece is about love. It’s about queer love, fruity love, juicy love, budding love, & sweet love.
